Nottingham Mela will be taking place from 11th – 14th September. Be sure to look out for events taking place at NAE from 11th-13th September and the grand finale at Wollaton Park on Sunday 14th September with a great line up of confirmed artists: Kaafi & Arijit, Selina Dancers, Rahul Christian, Tushar Deshpande, Kay Kay & Fusion Band, our headline artist, Navin Kundra and not forgetting our very own local talented students and tutors from the NAAC Music & Dance Academy...
A multi award winning singer, songwriter, and performer, Navin Kundra has captivated audiences across the globe with his powerhouse vocals and electrifying stage presence. With multiple chart-topping singles, including hits like “Tere Liye”, “Mehbooba”, and the recent smash “Na Ja”, Navin has made history as one of the most successful British Asian artists in the UK. He has broken a Guinness World Record with his music and performed for King Charles and Queen Camilla at Buckingham Palace - a true icon who bridges East and West through his music. Get ready to be inspired and fully entertained, because when it comes to talent, passion, and star power, there’s no one quite like Navin Kundra!
The Nottingham Mela is the oldest national Mela in the UK. It is a festival of South Asian culture and that brings music, dance, visual arts, film, street entertainment, spicy cuisine, crafts, and stalls all in one place to entertain and engage all communities, children and families in a vibrant, colourful and memorable atmosphere.
Mela is a Sanskrit word meaning 'gathering' or 'to meet' or a Fair. It is used in the Indian subcontinent for all sizes of gathering and can be religious, commercial, cultural or sports. This will be one the best weekend entertainment of the year - that will be enjoyed by all - A great family event with something for everyone!!!
Ganesh Festival - Ganeshotsav 2025

Once again, Ganesh ji is coming to Nottingham during GANESHOTSAV.
The big day “VISARJAN” ceremony is performed at Newstead Park with lots of music and fun for all ages.
Date : Saturday 6th September 2025
Arrive at : 4 pm
Procession starts at: 4.45 pm
Gate closes by : 5.30 pm
PRICE: £2.35 per person (includes booking fee) – Pre-booked tickets in advance apply.
Typically these events sell out quickly. There will be no tickets sold on the day.
 Parking: Any standard parking area on site. Ticket admission includes parking at Newstead Park from 3.30 pm.

Nottingham Mela is back for 2025, once again celebrating the art and culture of South Asia in a weekend of exciting events!
Nottingham Mela takes place from Thursday 11-13 September at the New Art Exchange and the grand finale on Sunday 14 September at Wollaton Park. Come and enjoy live performances by leading artists, visual arts workshops, market stalls, the nostalgic scents of sizzling South Asian cuisine and much much more. All ages are Welcome.
Presenting the Mela at Wollaton Park in collaboration with Nottingham Asian Arts Council, New Art Exchange and Gemini Sounds.
Nottingham Mela will showcase Bollywood artists & performers, stalls, music & workshops.

The Bengali Kitchen

Every month at the Corner Café, we serve up plant-based dishes from around the world. This time, we’re moving to the second Thursday to be part of Nottingham MELA!
This month we are excited to present an evening of Bengali food for you to enjoy.
Meals are served from 5 – 7 pm and drinks are available to buy at the café. Our Gallery is open until 7 pm, this may be your last chance to check out our OPEN 2025 exhibition.
Everyone is welcome – no one turned away for lack of funds. Sit down, enjoy a great meal and get to know your local community!
Our food is always vegan-friendly at Community Kitchen events and allergy information is available on request.

Film Screening: Bhaji on the Beach

Join us for a free film screening, as part of Nottingham MELA, of Bhaji on the Beach, a witty, heartfelt British film directed by Gurinder Chadha. It follows a group of British Indian women from different generations who take a day trip to Blackpool. As tensions rise and secrets surface, the women confront personal and cultural challenges, from arranged marriages to racism, while exploring freedom, identity, and solidarity in a seaside setting.

Get ready for an incredible night as Nott Another takes over the Nottingham Mela, kicking things off with comedy that’ll have you crying with laughter—Tej Dhuita, Tharun Chelley, and Ishi Kahn take the mic, hosted by the Jay Sandhu. Then, we switch gears as Yosei, K Ji, and more drop banger after banger, with Jay keeping the party lit. Laugh hard, vibe harder—this is Mela night done right!

NAAC Music & Dance Academy
Our NAAC Music & Dance Academy classes take place every Wednesday from 5:30pm-8:00pm @ Radford Academy, Denman Street West, Radford, Nottingham NG7 3FL. Come join us, for fitness, Yoga & Wellbeing at Wollaton and Newstead; or come along to learn a new dance move, an instrument, singing, make new friends and have some fun. Classes restart on Wednesday 2 September 2025.
Our Academy students are given the opportunity to participate at loads of local events organised by NAAC and other organisations...so come along and be that budding star!
Many thanks to all our Academy students, tutors and artists who performed at our events in the Park in Nottingham. Everyone enjoyed the performances and we got lots of positive feedback from all.
