John,
The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has launched an alarming Request for Information (RFI) to attack the field of gender-affirming care. The FTC is now accepting public comments, which is likely to inform their future RFIs into this longstanding field of medicine. We’re calling on you to comment in support [[link removed]] of the health care that is vital for trans and intersex people’s lives.
This is a critical opportunity to take action in support of gender-affirming care (GAC), a form of longstanding, evidence-based, and medically necessary care provided by trained medical professionals in accordance with rigorous standards of care.
GAC is safe, effective, and built on a foundation of informed consent between providers, patients, and caregivers. It includes honest conversations about benefits and risks, helping families make the best decisions for their health and wellbeing.
The FTC has historically sought to protect the public from truly unsafe and ineffective products and devices, but the FTC’s current efforts are a distortion of its core mission. Rather than addressing actual consumer harm or fraudulent practices, the agency is targeting a respected field of medicine solely based on biases against gender-diverse people .
We cannot allow anti-trans ideology to override science or compromise access to essential care.

Now is the time to take action and help defend the rights and safety of transgender, gender-diverse, and intersex individuals.

Together, we can push back against politically motivated interference in healthcare and demand that the FTC stay focused on its real job: protecting people from actual harm—not advancing stigma.
