August is more than just a month to start wrapping up the summer. It is a month of action, celebration, and reflection for Black people.

Black August is our month-long commemoration in the Black liberation movement.
Black Business Month acknowledges and celebrates Black-owned businesses across the nation.

Of course, the work of Girls For A Change (GFAC) goes beyond one month. We join Black girls in their journey to adulthood and are there for them as long as they need us. While we center Black justice and liberation all year, August is a special opportunity to amplify our message.

We've spent these last few warm months making tons of new “summer” friends. And, we are not done. We are closing out the summer with a campaign packed with opportunities for our friends, old and new, to support the groundbreaking work we have planned for the year ahead.

Later this month, in partnership with Faherty Brand ([link removed]) , a woman-owned clothing company with a B Corporation certification for social and environmental responsibility, will launch a three-week online marketplace campaign through Boundless Giving.

Faherty has already been a great friend to GFAC, featuring our very own Sistah Angela Patton in their Mother’s Day campaign ([link removed]) , and hosting our Immersion Lab participants during their Creative Industry Camp. We are excited to work with them again to raise awareness and funds for our programs this year!
