This afternoon in Los Angeles, Governor Gavin Newsom announced a special election to allow California voters to weigh in on a new congressional map — a direct response to Donald Trump and Texas Republicans’ mid-decade redistricting scheme.
Let me be clear: I support this effort.
We cannot unilaterally disarm as Donald Trump and Texas Republicans march ahead with plans to draw five new Republican seats to hold on to power and let Donald Trump escape accountability.
