Dear Friend,

We did it! 🎉 Thanks to your incredible advocacy, the Trump administration
has been forced to release over $5 billion in critical public education
funding that had been unjustly frozen for weeks. [[ [link removed] ]1] Your signatures,
your stories, your voice made this happen. Thank you.

In fact, the release of frozen funds came after a wave of public pressure,
and yes, that includes YOU. [[ [link removed] ]2]

But while this freeze has ended, the threat to our public schools is far
from over.

[ [link removed] ]That’s why we need YOUR story about how public education has helped
you, your kids, your family, or your community. Importantly, we also want
to hear how these attacks on public schools are negatively impacting you
and your community too.

The administration’s newly proposed budget would eliminate many of the
same programs they just unfroze, programs that fund mental health support,
special education, and Title I resources for low-income schools.[[ [link removed] ]3]
Their plan? Replace it with a block grant. Deceptively these block grants
are a much smaller single pot of money that states can spend with almost
no accountability or equity protections. [[ [link removed] ]4]

Let’s be clear: Block grants are bad. They lower the amount of funds for
schools, dilute protections for vulnerable students, open the door for
political misuse of funds, and leave families with fewer tools for
fairness in education.

[ [link removed] ]Share your story about how public schools have been helpful, and,
importantly, about how these attacks on schools are damaging, here.

Wondering what to share? Tell us how these attacks on public education
affect you, your child, your students, or your community. Whether it's
underfunded classrooms, cuts to special education, staff shortages, or the
harmful impact of voucher programs. We want to hear it.

[ [link removed] ]Your stories help us speak truth to power.

Sharing your experiences helps lawmakers, journalists, and the public
understand the REAL cost of bad education policy. They make sure our
children’s needs are not ignored. And they push forward solutions. In
short: Your story is power and change in motion to help fuel policy
corrections. (Thank you in advance for sharing!!)

Let’s keep the pressure on. The freeze may be over, but our movement is
just getting started.

In powerful solidarity,

- Beatriz, Kelsey, Ruth, Kristin, and the MomsRising & MamásConPoder Team
