 It's been called one of the greatest achievements in American history. But today, on the 90th anniversary of Social Security, it faces it's biggest threat.
 Over 69 million Americans rely on Social Security to afford basic necesseties. But Donald Trump called it a "Ponzi Scheme" and is threatening to sell it off to the highest bidder! Today, to honor and protect Social Security, we're asking for $9 to support Democrats who are fending off right-wing attacks and keeping this vital program alive. Franklin D. Roosevelt viewed Social Security as a cornerstone of the American economic system. One that vowed to look after the most vulnerable citizens and boost the economy by keeping its promises. Barack Obama doubled-down when he said: “We will keep the promise of Social Security by taking the responsible steps to strengthen it – not by turning it over to Wall Street!" But now, that's exactly what the Trump administration wants to do. They want to privatize Social Security so major corporations can take over, cut costs, jack up prices, and make billions off of those who need it most. Social Security offices across the country are teetering on the brink of collapse as we speak. We cannot — we will not — let Republicans dismantle the most successful anti-poverty program in American history.
