Meet the Crew<[link removed]>
Dear John,
Crewmembers arrive on our ships from ordinary lives and far-off cities, united by a single cause. Lines are cast off, and together they sail for the frontlines: defending marine wildlife in some of the most dangerous waters on Earth.
Meet the Crew<[link removed]>
Sea Shepherd’s twin ships, Bob Barker and Seahorse, intercept poachers and pull lethal nets in the Vaquita Porpoise Refuge. The Allankay, deployed in Antarctica’s Southern Ocean, exposes industrial krill trawlers. In the Yucatán, our crews defend one of North America’s largest reef systems, critical spawning grounds for threatened sharks, rays, and fish, against poaching. In Greece, crews haul up thousands of illegal octopus traps. This is Sea Shepherd at work.
Over the coming months, we’ll introduce you to the people behind these missions, from engineers and officers to divers and rescue specialists, so you can see the faces your support keeps at sea.
Here are three of them:

Heidy from the US — marine scientist in the Vaquita Refuge, protecting the last remaining vaquita and monitoring entangled sea lions and other species from deadly gillnets.
Macer from the UK — bosun, leading deck operations that power every mission—from launching boats to keeping the ship ready to deploy fast boats to intercept poachers, haul nets, or bring scientists to rescue animals.
Julia from the UK — ship’s medical officer aboard the Seahorse and the Allankay in Antarctica, our medics are also deck hands and do a lot of intensive boat maintenance while caring for the crew during long patrols in recovering ecosystems.

Sea Shepherd is powered by volunteers, many of whom began as deckhands, medics, photographers, and filmmakers. Join the fight to defend the ocean at
