We just crunched the numbers, and we’re still falling a little bit short of our mid-August fundraising goal.

You might be thinking: The election isn’t until next year! Why are we talking about fundraising goals?

And listen, that’s not an unreasonable thing to think! But the truth is, these goals aren’t arbitrary. Our team creates detailed projections to account for everything from the cost of each yard sign, to the budget needed to fight back against misleading GOP attacks.

But when we fall short of our fundraising goals, we have to cut those projections. That means fewer yard signs. Fewer ads. Fewer resources to spread Brittany’s message. And in the final weeks leading up to Election Day, when most people are just starting to tune in to the midterms, those cuts could really come back to bite us.

So yes, even though the next election is still a long way off, we can’t dig ourselves into a hole we can’t get out of. We have to meet these fundraising goals, even if it means sending our top supporters annoying emails like these. So please, can Brittany count on you to pitch in before tomorrow night’s deadline?
