John, it's Lieutenant Governor Austin Davis.
Despite a record thirty-year low for violent crime in Washington, D.C., Donald Trump has deployed the National Guard and seized control of the police.
And he won't stop here. He's made it clear that he plans to target other Democrat-run states and cities next.

John, there are productive, comprehensive ways to address crime. This isn't one of them. Here in Pennsylvania, Gov. Shapiro and I have worked to reduce violent crime through funding community programming, and since entering office, gun violence has dropped by 42%.
Taking care of each other works. We need to lead with empathy first, rather than throw punishments at problems as a show of force. Reducing crime and making our communities safer is possible through intervention and prevention.
Trump's decision to deploy the National Guard and seize control of the D.C. police stands in direct opposition to the methods we know to work.
We need compassionate policies that bring our communities together and forward. Donald Trump is using fear tactics and aggression to divide us and send us backward.
Will you chip in to my re-election campaign so I can continue to stand up for Pennsylvania? My team's mid-month deadline is tomorrow at midnight, so your contribution couldn't come at a better time.
