John - Check out the exciting things happening at ISN as a new academic year begins!
John,
As things ramp up at our member institutions at the start of a new school year, ISN has been busy rolling out new programs and welcoming new stakeholders into our work!
Finally, two of ISN's summer programs significantly impacted participants, who returned to their respective communities more equipped to further justice action. The Migration Justice Summit took place in late June in Chicago, and in late July, the Catholic Ethical Purchasing Alliance (CEPA) hosted a two-day experience that immersed faculty participants in the garment industry of Los Angeles.
Keep an eye out for ISN's various upcoming programs, including the Justice Educators Collective that just released the first of four webinars designed to support religious educators in bringing Catholic Social Teaching (CST) to life in high school settings.
Gabriela Gordillo-Banuelos, faculty at Loyola High School, recalls her youth and the work environments her mother faced in the garment industry as she reflects on her mini-immersion experience. Read more here.
Elise Stankus, a Rosemont College graduate student involved with Discerning Deacons, joins the podcast to chat about synodality and the deaconate. Listen here.
Gromek brings over 20 years of experience in Catholic social justice leadership, community organizing, digital strategy, and nonprofit program management. Read more here.
