Hello Friends and Fellow West Texans,
Welcome back to my West Texas Wrap Up. Please remember to follow me on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube for regular updates on how I am serving the people of West Texas!
Defeating the Muleshoe Land Grab
Thanks to the Trump Administration, the Fish and Wildlife Service canceled the Land Protection Plan for the Muleshoe National Wildlife Refuge, ending the Biden Administration’s land grab that would have expanded the refuge by over 10,000% and infringed on the private property rights of West Texans.
I’m proud to have led the fight to defend our tax dollars, private property rights, and way of life by advancing legislation to prohibit and defund this federal land grab. I applaud the Trump Administration’s decision to withdraw the Biden Administration’s unnecessary and overreaching expansion of federal lands.
Celebrating a Big Beautiful Win for West Texas
I was honored to join my good friend August Pfluger in San Angelo for the 21st Annual West Texas Legislative Summit, where we had a great discussion about the One Big Beautiful Bill - the most consequential set of conservative reforms in modern history and a Big Beautiful WIN for West Texas.
This bill unleashes American energy dominance, delivers the largest tax cuts to small businesses and working families, secures the border, strengthens our military, defends the 2nd Amendment, bolsters rural healthcare, supports family farms, and accomplishes all this while delivering the largest spending reduction in American history by two-fold.
These reforms are critical to America’s future security and prosperity, will help restore fiscal sanity in Washington, and – most importantly - reflect the values of West Texas.

Back-2-School with West Texas Students
Had a great time handing out backpacks, school supplies, and pocket constitutions to the next generation of West Texans at the Lubbock City-Wide Back-2-School Bash!
This event was an awesome opportunity to join the City of Lubbock and Texas Tech University in giving back to the community. Good luck to everyone getting ready for another school year!

Delivering for Dyess and Our Military
I recently introduced two pieces of legislation aimed at increasing security at our military installations and delivering critical investment to Dyess Air Force Base in the Big Country.
Our airmen at Dyess AFB serve as the tip of the spear of our air arsenal and require the tools, infrastructure, and support necessary to carry out their critical mission effectively.
As we continue to prepare for the arrival of the B-21 Raider — the next-generation stealth bomber that will proudly fly out of the Big Country — we must continue to invest in Dyess. I'm proud to have introduce two bills — one to improve physical defenses and another to strengthen security — to safeguard the mission at Dyess, support our men and women who serve there, and ensure the base has everything it needs to continue the successful beddown of the B-21. You can read more about these bills HERE.

Fighting Against Foreign Countries Increasing Drug Costs
I recently introduced the USTRx Act, legislation that creates a Chief Pharmaceutical Trade Negotiator at USTR to have the responsibility of identifying foreign price controls on drugs innovated in the United States that increase costs for American patients. This negotiator would issue an annual report on these practices and recommend remedies as appropriate.
American innovation spurs medical breakthroughs that have improved care and saved lives around the world, but for far too long, foreign countries have gotten a free ride by imposing price controls on U.S. companies’ state-of-the-art treatments for their own citizens while increasing costs for patients here.
Enough is enough. My USTRx Act will expose this harmful practice, hold these countries accountable, and ensure that hardworking Americans have access to the affordable, life-saving medicines they need.
Lowering Trade Barriers for American Energy Producers
I was joined by 10 Members of Congress in sending a letter to U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer, urging the Trump administration to push back on discriminatory European Union (EU) energy regulations that threaten American exports and undermine the U.S.-EU energy partnership.
