Texas AG Can't Depose Catholic Charities Leader in Migrant Aid Case, Appeals Court Rules - A Texas appeals court voted to deny Attorney General Ken Paxton’s request to depose Sister Norma Pimentel of Catholic Charities of the Rio Grande Valley, affirming a lower court’s finding that the state failed to show the benefits of a pre-suit deposition outweighed the burdens. The panel noted the nonprofit had already cooperated by providing documents and a sworn statement, amid broader state probes of NGOs assisting migrants launched after Gov. Abbott’s 2022 directive.

Cornyn Calls On DOJ to Investigate Beto O’Rourke, Bankrollers of MIA Texas Legislators for Violating Federal Corruption and Finance Law - On August 3, 2025, over 50 Texas legislators fled the State with the express purpose of preventing a quorum from meeting during the current special session, thus precluding the House from taking any legislative activity. The legislation which these irresponsible members knowingly blocked includes assistance to victims of the Kerr County floods. The special session will end in a matter of days, at which point, assistance to flood victims and other needed measures will go unaddressed.

Expediting State Approval of Carbon Storage Wells - Far too often, bureaucratic red tape gets in the way of those who know the energy industry best, stifling production and disincentivizing innovation. Texans lead the way in efficient energy production nationwide.
