Dear Friend,

I wanted to provide a quick update on my work in Maryland’s First Congressional District — from protecting our coastal economy and strengthening our rural hospitals, to continuing our efforts to stop reckless offshore wind development.

Removing Invasive Blue Catfish & Supporting Watermen

Last week, I joined USDA Secretary Brooke Rollins to announce a major win for Maryland’s seafood industry: $6 million in federal grants available through the Meat and Poultry Processing Expansion Program to expand seafood processing, boost our food supply chain, and develop new markets for invasive blue catfish.

Also, thanks to President Trump’s leadership, USDA also launching a $2 million USDA pilot program to purchase Chesapeake Bay blue catfish for food banks and local distributors.

Protecting Our Coast at the White Marlin Open

In Ocean City, I joined Mayor Rick Meehan at the White Marlin Open to highlight how the One Big Beautiful Bill ends wasteful Green New Scam subsidies for offshore wind. These industrial projects threaten our fisheries and marine environment. President Trump’s efforts are protecting our waters, coastal jobs, and local traditions.

Strengthening Rural Healthcare

I also met with Maryland Secretary of Health, Dr. Meena Seshamani and representatives from the University of Maryland Shore Regional Medical Center about the importance of continuing to deliver quality healthcare to rural Americans. As a physician, I know how critical quality healthcare is to rural Americans. That’s why the One Big Beautiful Bill boosts funding for rural hospitals to ensure patients can continue to access care.

Keeping the Census Focused on Citizens:

I joined Mornings with Maria to explain why illegal aliens should not be counted in the U.S. Census. Representation and resources must reflect citizens, not those here unlawfully. It’s about fairness, accountability, and protecting the American taxpayer.
