Hey there PCCC Members - it's Rep. Mike Levin here.
In 2018, I flipped a longtime Republican stronghold from red to blue. You may remember my first opponent, former Rep. Darrell Issa? We scared him into retirement, and his replacement was no match for our grassroots energy.
It’s not just important that we flipped a deep-red seat. It's how we did it. I ran a grassroots campaign without taking a dime from corporate PACs. We also stayed true to our shared values of enacting bold, progressive policies like a Green New Deal.
Republicans are targeting me. I need your help to keep representing this seat.
Our win in 2018 sent a strong message that progressives don't need to waver on our values in order to win in swing districts.
Now -- for the first time in decades -- our community has a strong, progressive advocate in Congress. I've stood with our veterans against VA cuts and demanded they receive benefits they deserve. I've put eliminating Nuclear Waste from the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station front and center in the Natural Resources Committee. And I've stood up to polluters by calling for an outright ban on offshore drilling.
But the Republican establishment is coming after me. I'm up against a self-funding, Trump acolyte who is willing to spend millions of his own money on TV and mail attacking me for supporting the Green New Deal.
This is still a swing district, and I'm going to need all the help I can get if we’re going to protect our progressive win: Can you chip in a donation to help me keep CA-49 blue?
The support of PCCC members like you was a big reason we were able to win in 2018. Let's send a message that we still have what it takes to keep this seat in our column.
