We are in a full-blown crisis.

In Texas, Republicans have thrown out every political norm and launched a mid-year redistricting scheme—something we’ve never seen before, all to carve out more seats for Mike Johnson and protect Donald Trump.

They’re redrawing the maps in the middle of the year to protect Trump from his connection to Jeffrey Epstein and for his unconstitutional and illegal actions he’s visited on the American people.

At the same time, ICE is carrying out masked, raids in neighborhoods across America. And Trump has already deployed the military to two U.S. cities—if you think he’ll stop there, you haven’t been paying attention.

The signs of authoritarianism aren’t subtle anymore. They’re flashing like red warning lights. And what is the Democratic establishment doing in the face of this threat?

Nothing serious. No real fight. Arguing with each other about a New York mayoral race and writing strongly worded tweets. It’s the same old playbook that already failed us twice.

I’m Terry Virts. I’ve flown F-16s into combat. I’ve commanded missions on the International Space Station. I know the difference between overreacting—and getting run over in a crisis.
