Let's be clear about what this means. Every time legislators are in Austin for one of these partisan special sessions, it costs Texas taxpayers over $1.2 million.
While they waste time and tax dollars in Austin, we’re on the ground doing the work:
- Organizing communities to fight for local policies that actually help people.
- Talking to voters about the issues that matter to them, not to political consultants.
- Building a statewide network of volunteers and activists ready to hold power accountable.
The political stunts will continue as long as they think no one is building a strong enough opposition to stop them. We are that opposition. But we are a people-powered organization, and we can’t do this work without you.
