It’s Raul.

I’ve been keeping a close eye on what’s happening with redistricting in Republican-led states — and it’s honestly pretty alarming.

Simply put, Republicans across the country are trying to game the system.

They’re working to redraw congressional maps in a way that could give them more seats, even in places where voters clearly aren’t with them.

It’s all part of their plan to tilt the scales before voters even have a say.

California has had one of the fairest redistricting systems in the country, and we’re proud of that. But if states like Texas, Florida, and others keep aggressively pushing their already gerrymandered maps even further to the right, California may have to respond.

That uncertainty means we have to be ready for whatever comes next.

CA-25 could shift. It could very likely become more competitive. And we need to be prepared, and not caught off guard.

But right now, we’re heading into the toughest stretch of the year: the summer fundraising slump. Donations have started to slow down, just when we need to be building strength for whatever Republicans throw at us next.
