Hi John,

It's been another scorching start to the week! But have no fear, because your friends at Diabetes UK are coming round the corner with a parasol and an electric fan. We've always got your back, so make sure you check out our top tips on how to manage the hot weather ( [link removed] ), including advice on the best ways to store your tech and our guidance on staying hydrated.

So, apart from the barmy British summer, what's been going on this month? Well, plenty. One project that's close to our heart is our work on tackling inequity. We've been working hard to address the fact that too many people living with diabetes face unfair barriers to getting the support they need.

Through our Tackling Inequity programme, we’re working to change this. We’re focusing on groups who are more likely to experience these challenges, partnering with local communities, healthcare professionals, and policymakers, and finding out what’s getting in the way so that we can take action to remove those barriers.

We know that it's a long-term commitment, but with your support, we can close the health gap for people with diabetes. No matter whether there's a heatwave or a blizzard outside, we're committed to building a future where your postcode, ethnicity, or background doesn’t determine the care you receive.

Delicious chickpea salad

It's hot. And the last thing anyone wants to do in a heatwave is cook. Check out this epic chickpea and tuna salad which makes an ideal lunch for when you're on-the-go. It takes just five minutes to prep and it's packed full of protein. Delicious!

P.S. Don't forget there's still time to sign up to one of our three Wellness Walks this year, taking place in Glasgow, London and Manchester. You can find out more here ( [link removed] ).
