Dear John,

As the November election draws closer, the Brennan Center is dedicating everything we have to protect the vote. In this whatever-it-takes moment, we all know that our democracy faces its biggest crisis in decades. Can you give today to power our fight?

The coronavirus pandemic poses a real threat to our elections, one made even larger by the president using it as a weapon to suppress the vote. This makes our work more difficult and endangers our most basic rights as Americans, but we’re doubling down.

We’re fighting to end voter suppression. We know who bears the brunt of long lines at polling places, bad voter purges, gerrymandering, and voter ID laws: people of color. As protests against anti-Black racism and police brutality continue across the country, we are working to dismantle obstacles to voting so that every eligible American can have their say.

We’re fighting at every level of government to make sure election officials have the resources they need to run a safe, secure, free, and fair election. We’re fighting so voters aren’t asked to choose between their right to vote and their health.

We’re fighting to protect our elections from cyberattacks, and against the spread of dangerous disinformation.

The good news? We’ve won before. We can win again.

Our democracy is worth fighting for. At a time when every day seems to present a new challenge, Brennan Center is ready to respond. We have the innovative research and bold policy solutions that will protect our election and enfranchise all who have been left behind, and we’re using that fuel to fight back. The only thing we need now is your support.

It’s now or never. I hope you’ll join us.
