First, Trump and MAGA gutted public broadcasting and effectively ended the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.

Project 2025 lays out what’s next: fill the void left by decades of trusted public broadcasting programming with MAGA media, propaganda and hate.

Enter PragerU — a far-right “education” outlet now up and running in multiple state public school systems. Trump’s a fan, and they recently teamed up with his administration for a history event.

The "educational" video features Christopher Columbus telling kids that slavery was “no big deal,” calling it “as old as time” and suggesting being taken as a slave “is better than being killed.”

PragerU isn't the only MAGA media getting a boost from the Project 2025 blueprint to defund public broadcasting.

At the Voice of America — created during World War II to deliver factual, independent journalism into countries ruled by propaganda — Trump’s appointees have already swapped trusted reporting for far-right content from One America News Network.

And here’s the truth: Trump and MAGA rail against Democrats for “rewriting history” or “indoctrinating kids,” but that outrage is pure theater.

Their own Project 2025 plan is to erase fact-based public media and replace it with propaganda like PragerU and OAN that will literally rewrite history and spread hate.

The only way to stop that is to make sure independent, fact-based journalism survives — and grows.
