That’s what Michelle Obama had to say about the risks voters (as we’ve seen, particularly voters of color) have had to brave already this election cycle.

In response, the former First Lady has launched the Civic Cities initiative -- a collaboration with over 30 of America’s mayors that’s built around empowering Americans to vote in a safe and secure manner.

At this time of historic threat to voting rights, it’s exactly what we need. But the last time Michelle implied America could use some improvement, the right attacked her as unpatriotic -- and we don’t put it past them to do the same thing again.
