Hello from Washington, D.C.

Last night, we learned that Trump will evict nearly 62 homeless encampments in DC and is actively arresting people. Click here to read a joint statement between the Law Center and DC experts at the Washington Legal Clinic for the Homeless and Miriam's Kitchen.

Trump has made it clear that his actions in DC will be replicated throughout the country.

Below are three things you can do to take action to support homeless folks in DC.

1. TAKE ACTION

The Housing Not Handcuffs Act has been introduced in Congress to stem the tide of federal arrests and ticketing of our unhoused neighbors. Use your voice to demand Congress invest in true solutions to homelessness: housing, not handcuffs.

2. Follow and donate to partners on the ground. Check out:

3. Demand that Trump keep his hands off DC

DC has no voting representation in Congress. If you live outside of DC, please contact your Congress members and demand that Trump leave DC alone. Use this tool from our partners at Free DC

Onward,

The Housing Not Handcuffs Campaign
