I’ve taught students about politics and government for a long time so I’m very aware of the way modern political campaigns function. Trump has turned up the volume, but negative attacks, lies, and distortions have been the norm for a long time in Washington.

Now Washington elites are playing in our South Jersey race. Super PACs illegally funded by Amy Kennedy are lying about me and trying to rewrite her track record. They know the ads don’t have to be truthful. They just need to play them on repeat enough times for the lie to spread.

We’re doing something different. My campaign launched our ad with Senator Cory Booker to talk about the ways I’ll work for South Jersey. Negative ads may be the status quo in Washington – but I think South Jersey has had enough.
