Hello John,

This is a short, direct presentation to explain the reality of electoral politics.

You may know me or Barbara Bry or both. You have already supported her PRIMARY campaign with your time and effort, which was well spent – s he won – by 1,189 votes out of more than 350,000 cast. So it’s true that every vote counts.

This brings me to another electoral reality, embodied in a famous phrase from the movie director, Billy Wilder, who said, “No good deed goes unpunished.” Ok, so now we can all see what is coming next. Next is what is commonly referred to as the GENERAL ELECTION . That is the one in November.

You gave support in the primary and you now have the opportunity, one might even suggest politely, the obligation, to RE-UP your commitment. Allow me to provide a short lesson in behavioral economics / Texas Hold’Em. You have already paid the ante (the primary) and you have really good cards after the flop (Barbara Bry) , and you are faced with the problem of raising, calling or folding before the last card is turned over because there are table limits.

Once again, I turn to a famous poet, Thomas Ravebscroft, 1695, who said “In for a penny, In for a Pound.” The math is compelling, you need to see the River Card.

Me thinks it is an Ace, and that Ace is Barbara Bry.

The phrase RE-UP is most famously used by the Army Master Sargent Recruiter as you consider leaving, and he tempts you with some goodies to lure you back into the fold. In the case of this election, the goodies being offered are decent, smart, dependable, disciplined, thoughtful, innovative leadership. That is all you get and it is more than you will get from her opponent.

There is only one moment that truly matters in the City you live in – and that is Tuesday, November 3rd, 2020, election day.
So, hunker down.

Consider writing a check. Or donate online [[link removed]] . Doesn’t matter. Just trust me, you will feel better about it afterwards. Ms. Bry cannot be bought and sold like other professional politicians, but without enough campaign resources, it is for sure you will be disappointed by the outcome.

The maximum contribution is $1,150 and the here is the link [[link removed]] .

But there’s no minimum buy-in either. $1 puts more chips on the table!

Sincerely,

Neil Senturia

(auditioning to be first husband)
