The proposed Republican gerrymandered Texas congressional map is out — and it's exactly what we feared.

Donald Trump and Greg Abbott are targeting my community.

If this map goes through, my district, TX-35, would be merged with TX-37 into one combined seat.

I’ll be clear: the merging of these districts is illegal voter suppression of Black and Latino Central Texans. It's an attack on voting rights and a blatant violation of Martin Luther King’s Voting Rights Act of 1965.

Trump and his allies want to rip the Voting Rights Act to shreds, and they’re starting right here in Central Texas. If they succeed, their ploy will spread like wildfire across the country.

If we stay silent, they’ll get away with it. But if we organize, raise our voices, and demand action — we can stop them.

I refuse to stay silent while they try to disenfranchise us, and I hope you’ll join me in fighting back.
