đź“… Upcoming Event ([link removed]) | New Investigation #TrenDeAragua

Venezuela’s most feared gang has spread across the Americas. The group has expanded beyond Venezuela to establish itself in Colombia, Peru, and Chile, with active cells in other countries as well. But are these cells united under one criminal banner or just using the notorious name for clout? Questions and confusion about Tren de Aragua abound.

Tren de Aragua has also reached the United States, where authorities have labeled the group terrorists and accused its members of helping instigate an “invasion” at the behest of Venezuela’s president, Nicolás Maduro. Maduro, meanwhile, claims the gang has been eradicated — at least in Venezuela.

So what is the truth about Tren de Aragua?

Stay tuned on Monday, August 18, when InSight Crime will publish its latest investigation. Three years in the making, the investigation builds on fieldwork and reporting in multiple countries across Latin America and the Caribbean, closely tracking Tren de Aragua’s leaders, criminal enterprises, and expansion.

We also invite you to our virtual event where InSight Crime experts will analyze the investigation’s findings in a live panel streamed on our YouTube, X, Instagram, and Facebook accounts.
