Working Families Party

John,

Donald Trump is testing how far he can go to rig the 2026 midterm elections in his favor — and he’s starting in Texas.

Right now, Republicans in Texas are trying to ram through a gerrymandered congressional map that would hand Trump five more seats in Congress. Not because voters asked for it, but because they know the actions of the Trump regime are incredibly unpopular and that they can’t win fair and square.

And Trump’s made it clear: if he gets away with this in one state, he’ll take the same playbook to Missouri, Ohio, Florida — any other red state where he can bully the GOP to twist the rules to keep himself and his allies in power.

But we aren’t backing down. Texas Democrats have left the state to block the vote, risking fines and arrest to defend our democracy and highlight the stakes of this Trump power play. They’re standing up for their constituents, and for every single one of us.

Now it’s our turn to stand with them.

This Saturday, August 16th, we’re joining a National Day of Action to rally national attention and do all way can to stop Trump’s takeover before it spreads. From state capitols to city halls, we’ll rally for fair maps, free elections, and a government that works for the people.

Trump and his allies are betting that we’ll be too distracted, too divided, or too tired to fight back. But they’re wrong. We’ve stopped them before, and together, we’ll do it again.

When we rise together — across states, zip codes, and neighborhoods — we become the check on a system being twisted to serve Trump and his allies.

We decide our future. Not them. Not any politician who treats democracy like their personal property.

Let’s make that message loud and clear this Saturday.

Join an event near you this Saturday, August 16th, and let’s put the brakes on the Trump takeover of our democracy:
