John, children are dying of starvation in Gaza.
Palestinian children face scorching summer heat with hardly any food or clean water. Cases of malnutrition among children have doubled in the last few months.
Amid restrictions on aid delivery, the International Rescue Committee continues to respond and deliver vital nutrition, clean water, sanitation and hygiene services and emergency support in Gaza.
John, we urgently need your help to reach more families in dire need.
Please start a monthly donation for children and families in Gaza and in crisis zones worldwide to deepen your impact. For a limited time, your first month's gift will be 5X MATCHED to help us respond when we’re needed most.
Displaced Palestinians are lining up to fill their containers with water in Deir Balah in Gaza on April 25, 2024
Our Emergency Country Director Scott Lea recently returned from Gaza with an urgent message about the catastrophic suffering on the ground:
"There is simply not enough clean water to meet the needs of the population in Gaza. The people we meet have no food, and now no water."
The IRC's nutrition teams have reported a sharp rise in the number of children being rushed to hospitals because of malnutrition, and that many may never recover.
Day in and day out, our staff and partners are delivering nutrition, clean water, sanitation and hygiene services, and child protection in some of the hardest-hit areas. We are using our remaining stocks of lifesaving therapeutic food to treat malnutrition in children under 5. But our supplies inside Gaza are running low.
Meanwhile, we have more than 5 tons of medical supplies ready and waiting to enter Gaza—enough to treat thousands of people and offer critical support to a health system already collapsing.
Your support ensures we can scale up lifesaving aid the moment access to crisis zones is possible.
Your enduring support is needed now more than ever. Please start a monthly contribution to help save lives in Gaza and crisis zones around the world and your first gift will be a 5X matched gift now »
