The Maine Department of Transportation will conduct an overnight closure of the northbound ramp of U.S. Route 1 leading to the Main Street Bridge and the Topsham Bypass Bridge over the Androscoggin River in Brunswick on August 14, 2025, from 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM. The ramp closure will be marked on message boards. Cones and signage will be used for directing drivers to the next available exit. This closure is part of an ongoing highway rehabilitation project. The project area begins 0.17 miles east of Cushing Street and extends east 3.02 miles as well as 0.70 miles west of Old Bath Road and extends west 3.39 miles. The project area includes all approaches and ramps. This project consists of highway rehabilitation, pavement milling, hot mix asphalt overlay, and safety improvements. The contractor on this project is Coastal Road Repair of Westbrook, Maine. The contract amount is $15,544,396.25.
