Working with Native American communities to control the spread of COVID-19 in the Southwestern US

With more than 120,000 deaths and cases once again on the rise in many parts of the country, the US is struggling to control the spread of COVID-19. Native American communities in the Southwest—many of whom were already living with limited access to health care and other essential services—have been particularly hard-hit. Over the past two months, Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) has been working in partnership with officials, community leaders, service organizations, and health care workers from the Navajo Nation and Pueblo peoples in New Mexico and Arizona to control a dangerous spike in COVID-19 cases.
