Friend, Donald Trump recently signed the so-called GENIUS Act – a dangerous cryptocurrency bill – into law that opens the door for even more shady deals for Trump and his allies.

I fought to stop it. I even used a rare procedural move to introduce an amendment banning the president and vice president from endorsing or issuing stablecoins. But Senate Republicans stripped it out, enabling Trump and his family to profit from unregulated pump-and-dump schemes.

Now Trump can continue his crypto grift – and his erosion of the public’s trust in our democracy.

Trump is pumping up the value of his personal cryptocoin to make himself and his billionaire buddies even richer. He’s holding private dinners with his meme coin investors in a shameless pay-to-play operation — and he’s doing it while cutting taxes for the ultra-wealthy, gutting critical safety nets, and raising prices with his disastrous tariff policies. 

In short, the president is abusing his public office for enormous personal gain. And the GENIUS Act just gave him a green light to keep going.

Everyone in Washington, D.C., knows where I stand: Colorado will not be complicit.
