John, my name is Trisha Calvarese (D) – and I’m running for Congress to defeat Lauren Boebert (R), flip the House blue and stand up for working families in my hometown.
In a second, I want to tell you a little more about myself and why I’m in this race. But first, I need you to know that if we win here, Democrats are virtually guaranteed to take back the House. So if you’re ready to join our movement, please chip in $25 or more now to defeat Boebert and build a better future for Colorado.
My story begins in the rural Eastern Plains. My dad was a dedicated civil servant, and my mom was a child care provider. From the beginning, they’ve been my models of what servant leadership means.
When they both became terminally ill with cancer less than two years ago, I returned home to provide end-of-life care for them. It was the toughest thing I’ve ever done.
It opened my eyes to how broken our systems are – and I couldn’t believe that our members of Congress weren’t doing more to fix them. So that’s what I’m doing: I’m running for Congress to stand up for the dignity and care of families in my hometown.
That means protecting Social Security and Medicare. It means working to bring down the cost of everything from prescription drugs to groceries. It means creating good-paying jobs and opportunities right here at home.
I know the road ahead won’t be easy. Lauren Boebert is bought and paid for by billionaires like Elon Musk, who are willing to do – and spend – whatever it takes to defeat us. But if there’s anything I’ve learned from growing up in Colorado, it’s this: There are things money can’t buy, greed can’t steal, and corruption can’t crush. It's us. We the people. This is our seat.
