Dear John,
Killing bear and wolf pups in their dens -- the Trump Administration just
greenlighted this brazen hunting atrocity in Alaska.
What’s worse, this will be allowed in nature preserves -- the very places
wildlife should be most protected. Hibernating bears, wolf and bear cubs,
swimming caribou, and more are now open season for trophy hunters.
This widely controversial move has shown the Trump Administration is not a
steward of the earth and has reached a low regarding cruelty to wildlife.
Use your voice: Demand the Trump Administration protect Alaska’s wildlife!

Under the Trump Administration’s new rollbacks of wildlife protections, hunters
are now allowed to use the following tactics on nature preserves in Alaska:
* Use bacon grease and doughnuts to bait bears
* Shoot hibernating mother bears and cubs in their dens
* Use motorboats to shoot swimming caribou
* Kill wolf pups in their dens
* Target animals from airplanes, helicopters, and snowmobiles
The extreme cruelty involved in these methods is clearly geared towards barbaric
trophy hunters. And this is just the beginning. If you do not act now, another
Wildlife Refuge in Alaska, the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge, will be opened to
these vicious hunting practices.
These hunting practices are so egregious that there is bipartisan opposition to
them. 79 members of Congress urged the National Park Service to retain wildlife
protections in Alaska -- but Trump’s Administration caved to extremist hunting
interests instead.
John, we need you to use your voice and help protect
bear and wolf pups!
Tell the Trump Administration: Baiting bears and killing cubs in their sleep is
cruel. Federal hunting rules must be reinstated immediately!

Trump’s decision means there are no protections on gray wolves in Alaska, which
have seen their populations dwindle since the 1970s. Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming
have already loosened protections -- and in the last decade, more than 3,200
wolves have been killed. This rule change could put wolves at increased risk of
extinction.
Gray wolf recovery efforts under the Endangered Species Act have been called
“one of our nation’s great conservation successes.” Now, all of that is at risk.
This inhumane treatment of animals in Alaska cannot be tolerated.
John, demand hunting rules be reinstated immediately.
Stop extremist hunters from killing bear cubs and wolf pups in their dens: Take
action now!
