Every summer I’m reminded of one scary truth: this will likely be the coolest summer for the rest of our lives. Summer can be a reminder of the urgency of the climate crisis for a lot of us in Oregon, from the increasing number of scorching heatwaves to life-threatening wildfires. There is no time to waste – our lawmakers need to act now, but as we saw during this year’s session, they missed their opportunity.
The fight is still ongoing even when we aren’t in session, and holding our elected officials accountable with the upcoming Environmental Scorecard is just one crucial part in ensuring our state leaders defend Oregon values and push back on federal climate attacks.
