If only we could have high hopes for you, New Jersey.

New York Post (8/10/25) opinion: "It’s clear New Jersey residents have lost confidence in their Democratic lawmakers when it comes to tax policy. Once they realize that Democrats’ bungled energy policies are to blame for their exploding utility bills as well, it could blow November’s race wide open. 'They took generation off before they brought generation on,' one energy expert told me, pointing to the state’s aggressive shutdown of coal-powered plants under Democratic Gov. Phil Murphy and the closure of the Oyster Creek nuclear power plant in 2018. The result? A shrinking energy supply, at a time when demand is exploding. Dan Lockwood, a spokesperson for PJM Interconnection, the regional grid operator, explained the problem plainly to the New Jersey Monitor. 'These higher prices are the result of a loss in electricity supply caused primarily by decarbonization policies that have led to an uptick in generator retirements,' Lockwood said."

"The United States will not accept any environmental agreement that harms the interests of the American people. The International Maritime Organization’s proposal for a “Net-Zero Framework” is a tax on Americans levied by an unaccountable UN organization.
@SecDuffy,@SecretaryWright,@howardlutnick, and I reject this proposal."

– Secretary of State Marco Rubio

Use it up, wear it out, make it do, or do without.

The News-Enterprise (8/11/25) opinion: "Coal is here to stay. It’s far past time we plan for it. Along with making far better use of our existing coal fleet, we must also pioneer advanced coal technology. More efficient, more flexible and lower-emission coal plants are the future. We should be modeling and building them here. With U.S. electricity demand soaring, we’re going to need an actual all-of-above approach to affordably and reliably meet it. With the United States the home to the world’s largest coal reserves, it would be energy policy malpractice not to make advanced coal technology a centerpiece of the effort."

"All In," is great when you hold the winning hand.

'ALL IN': Trump targets massive expansion of American coal.

America likes eagles far more than wind turbines.

E&E News (8/12/25) reports: "The Fish and Wildlife Service has begun to survey wind developers about potential harm to eagles as federal officials expand their efforts to stymie the renewable power sector. The invocation of the Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act to squeeze information from the wind industry worries some supporters who fear anything they say could be turned against them. It also raises questions about a permit system adopted only 14 months ago. 'The concern is that the administration might use the data it collects to serve a narrative against the industry and individual projects,' Benjamin Cowan, a partner at the Troutman Pepper Locke law firm whose clients include wind developers, said in an interview."
