What’s happening in Texas is a desperate power grab from Donald Trump, Greg Abbott, and Ken Paxton. It’s an attempt to take away the voice of millions of voters, upend our free and fair elections, and change the rules to give themselves more power.

We won’t stand for it.

That’s why I was honored to meet with the brave legislators from Texas who are fighting back against this attack on our democracy.

Because this doesn’t just matter to Texas. These craven attempts to rig the system will unfairly alter the balance of power in Congress after the next election. That would mean that Donald Trump and Congressional Republicans would have even more power to implement their terrible agenda, like they’re already doing with cuts to health care and food assistance.

That’s why it’s on each of us, no matter where we live, to stand up for our democracy.
