When I first ran for Attorney General in Kentucky, people said it couldn’t be done. When I ran for Governor, everyone told me the state had become too red and a Democrat couldn’t break through the partisan noise. But three races – and three wins – later, our campaign proved everyone wrong.

I didn’t win three times as a Democrat in deep-red Kentucky by bowing down to party politics. I won by sticking to my values, staying true to my faith, and never forgetting who I would serve when I entered office. I listened to what Kentuckians had to say, stood up for their rights and addressed their concerns, just like our leaders are supposed to.

When I launched In This Together PAC, I did it with a simple goal: To support good people in hard races – not just in Kentucky, but nationwide. I want to share the approach that has helped us win tough elections, and support the campaigns of leaders who show up, tell the truth, and actually do the job the American people hired them to do.

Eugene is the kind of person ITT PAC was built to support. He is on the DCCC’s Frontline list, meaning his district is really competitive and the Republicans are gearing up to try to defeat him next November.

Throughout his career, he has stood up for the people of VA-07 at every turn. From fighting to expand access to healthcare to creating good-paying jobs to protecting the rights of everyone, Eugene has proven he has what it takes to be a leader for all.

And today, his leadership is needed more than ever. Partisan politics are wreaking havoc on our democracy. Congress is writing and passing laws tailor-made to support the wealthy, while leaving everyday folks behind. That’s not what real leadership is about – and we can’t afford to let it continue.
