I recently introduced a resolution calling on the Senate to recognize Black Women’s Equal Pay Day! 

On average, Black women only make 66 cents for every dollar a white man makes. This economic disparity leaves Black women and their loved ones behind — and it’s unacceptable. 

In one of the wealthiest countries in the world, Black women shouldn’t have to work almost seven months longer just to earn what white men do. My Democratic colleagues in the Senate and I are committed to finding solutions that will close that gap and create a more equitable economy.
