I grew up in the Jim Crow South. When I was a boy in South Carolina, fewer than 1% of Black residents could vote.

I know what it looks like when a government tries to silence voices and deny people their most basic rights. And it’s happening right now in Texas.

Under pressure from President Trump, Republicans redrew their congressional map to steal five new GOP seats -- deliberately diluting votes and silencing Black and Brown voters in the process.

This is Jim Crow 2.0. And if they can get away with it in Texas, they’ll try it everywhere.

House Democrats are determined to codify voting rights protections to stop these undemocratic acts of voter suppression, but we won’t be able to unless we retake the House Majority. I’m personally asking you to chip in $5, $15, or whatever amount you can to help us mobilize to defeat Republicans at every level.
