Hi Revealer,
Did you know you have the power to inspire future generations with the same quality reporting you trust and believe in right now?
Elaine Davis did. She was a remarkable person: one of the first women to become and aeronautical engineer at Boeing; the recipient of awards from three presidents; and a dedicated progressive who championed many causes, including social justice, the environment, and the arts.
Elaine loved parties, tap danced into her 80s, and lived on her houseboat until well past her 90th birthday. She was frugal since childhood but still gave to (what is now) the Center for Investigative Reporting, making annual gifts throughout her lifetime and naming CIR in her will.
We’ve received several legacy gifts so far this year from visionary people including Elaine and, together, they really add up. You already know this nonprofit newsroom runs a very tight ship, and these gifts—both large and small—provide important funds that empower Reveal to respond with greater urgency in telling the stories that matter.
That’s why we’re so grateful to the members of our CIR Legacy Society, a group of people from all walks of life who have chosen to pass along their values of truth and integrity. These folks care so deeply about the future that they have included the gift of truth in their will or other legacy plans. We hope you’ll consider doing the same.
You don’t need to be wealthy to make a difference. In fact, you don’t even need a will. A gift of any size through your will or through your retirement plan, insurance plan, donor-advised fund, or other financial account (no will required) can help secure a future where everyone has access to truth.
Think about it: You could help us continue to provide the gift of meaningful, fact-based reporting that’s free to everyone and available on multiple platforms—empowering people to think critically and make more informed decisions for decades to come. Now that’s creating a legacy.
If you would like more information or have already included CIR in your plans, or even if you’re just starting to think about it, please let us know. Any information you share remains confidential. And if you ever have questions, feel free to contact me directly at [email protected] or 415-321-1706.
Wherever you might be in your journey, thanks for considering this additional way to help. It’s never too soon to take your commitment to truth to the next level.
With deep appreciation,
