John,

The Amazon rainforest is considered the lungs of our planet, and right now it’s burning. These uncontrolled fires are a result of Brazil’s far-right government which has enacted policies sold as “business-friendly” deregulation.

We’re seeing a similar mindset from the “leadership” here in our country, and are also witnessing rampant and dangerous deregulation. If we remain silent and continue to do nothing, the Amazon will pass the point where it can sustain itself against these forces.

Addressing the climate emergency is a huge priority in my platform. I have fully supported the Green New Deal since it was announced. I also believe we need to ban all single-use plastics and immediately end all subsidies to factory farms.

We must reverse budget cuts to the EPA, support research to find ways to reduce CO2 in our atmosphere on a large scale, and protect Americans from unsafe business practices.

We can change our behavior. We must change our behavior in order to have a dramatic, positive impact on our planet in time to save it.

Please support my campaign for Congress. There is no time to waste. We need to elect representatives who will act NOW before it’s too late.

Lauren
