** That’s a Wrap!
------------------------------------------------------------
Can you believe how amazing the Black Girl Wrap Up was!?
It had dances. It had cheers. It had confetti and laughter and FANS… What an amazing way to celebrate Black girls and all their glory! We honored our graduates, recognized the sisterhood and growth participants shared throughout the summer, awarded scholarships, danced, laughed, and had fun with families and hiring partners.
The performances at the Black Girl Wrap Up were nothing short of phenomenal! Our participants took the stage with confidence, grace, and power. Over the summer, they’ve learned what it means to rehearse with intention, show up with professionalism, and perform with heart.
From memorizing choreography and cues to mastering transitions and stage presence, these young stars rose to the challenge and delivered an unforgettable performance.
The smiles were bright, the movement was full of passion, and the audience? Absolutely full of joy, claps, and cheers!
This was a celebration of growth, self-trust, and the courage to be seen. We are beyond proud of every participant who danced, moved, and shared her light with the world. What a powerful way to wrap up the summer!

** Education Fund
------------------------------------------------------------
We honored two special participants during the Black Girl Wrap Up, awarding the first scholarships out of our Education Fund! After a formal application process, interviews, and voting from the Education Fund Committee, we were so excited to present scholarships to Meghan McGee and Asani Ka-Re!
Meghan McGee has stayed the course in the Girl Ambassador Program for all four years and is also one of our Peer Advisors. Meghan takes advantage of every opportunity she can, is always prepared, and is truly ready for this next phase in her life.
Asani Ka-Re has been with GFAC since she was in the third grade. She has been a part of Camp Diva, Girl Ambassador, Immersion Lab, and is a Peer Advisor. Asani is always ready to lend a hand, takes advantage of everything we have to offer, and truly exemplifies what it means to be a GFAC participant.

** Girl Ambassador Program Participants Award $1,000 Giving Circle Grant to ChildSavers
------------------------------------------------------------
“I wanted to share my thanks to the participants in the Girls for A Change programs for their generosity to ChildSavers. @ Angela: thank you too for the matching contribution. As I promised, we will ensure that these special resources will be directed to programming that supports Girls.
I have to say, I so enjoyed the celebratory atmosphere of the event, and I am happy to see one of our community partners grow its impact on the brilliant and capable Black Girls of our community. Thank you again, Sisters!”
- L. Robert Bolling, Chief Executive Officer, ChildSavers
As part of their journey in the Girl Ambassador Program (GAP), our participants selected ChildSavers as the recipient of their 2025 Giving Circle Award. A powerful decision that reflects their growing awareness of community care and impact.
This milestone embodies the heart of GAP: learning the importance of Black philanthropy and embracing the transformative act of giving back. Through months of collective fundraising and intentional decision-making, the participants not only chose an organization that makes a meaningful difference, but also deepened their understanding of what it means to pay it forward with purpose.
Together, the Girl Ambassadors raised $1,000 and, in the true spirit of leading by example, Sistah Angela matched their fundraising efforts. This match demonstrated the real-world power of philanthropy, showing our girls how giving can multiply impact and inspire others to join in.
By awarding these funds to ChildSavers, our Girl Ambassadors are taking their place in a proud legacy of changemakers, proving that leadership is as much about generosity as it is about vision.
** Sistah Angela Summer Farewell Message
------------------------------------------------------------
A Heartfelt Thank You from me to you:
As we close out this unforgettable summer, I want to pause and extend my deepest gratitude to every participant, parent, caregiver, camp staff, volunteer, hiring partner, and donor who made this season possible.
Your partnership, trust, and care have created a community where Black girls can grow, lead, and shine. This summer was filled with moments that celebrated courage, joy, and possibility — from the vibrant energy of the Black Girl Wrap Up to the powerful giving of our Black Girl Giving Circle Award, from scholarship presentations to unforgettable performances that lit up the stage.
Our girls have learned what it means to show up with professionalism, embrace their talents, give back with purpose, and step into leadership with confidence. None of this happens without YOU — the village that surrounds them with love, opportunity, and belief.
To our parents and caregivers: thank you for trusting us with your girls and partnering with us in their growth.
To our camp staff: your creativity, dedication, and energy make summer magic possible. You create spaces where our girls feel safe, inspired, and ready to try new things.
To our volunteers and hiring partners: your time, mentorship, and commitment open doors and expand horizons.
To our donors: your investment is planting seeds for generations of impact.
Because of you, GFAC continues to be a place where Black girls are celebrated, prepared, and ready to lead. This is more than a program. It’s a movement, and you are part of it.
As we look ahead, I carry deep gratitude for what we’ve built together and excitement for what’s yet to come. Thank you for believing in our mission, for showing up, and for helping us create a future where every Black girl is seen, heard, and thriving.
