Donald Trump is offering student loan forgiveness to new members of ICE — his racist, fascist American Gestapo — while making it harder for people he deems enemies to escape crushing debt.

In a ploy to recruit new agents to the recently superfunded ICE, Trump is dangling enticing benefits like student loan forgiveness. But at the same time, his administration is attacking the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program, a financial lifeline for public servants who spend years serving their communities.

Republicans have spent years attacking Justice Democrats in Congress for fighting to cancel student debt. But now, they’re ready to forgive loans if it helps them strengthen the very agency that rips apart families and terrorizes immigrant communities.

They’re using the cost of education as a weapon to punish political opponents and reward enforcers of their far-right agenda.

But it doesn’t have to be this way. We can’t let Republicans cherry-pick who deserves relief while millions are trapped under the loans they took just to get a job. We need to cancel student loan debt for everyone.
