School is back in session soon, and as a mom of two young boys, I know what this time of year looks like for families across West Michigan: notebooks, pencils, backpacks, new shoes, all the little things that add up fast.

This year, prices are even higher. Trump's tariffs are making the back-to-school season more expensive, and families are paying the price.

I see it in the checkout line, I hear it from other parents. I know that when costs go up, it’s not just a budgeting issue, it’s a question of whether your kids go into the classroom feeling confident and prepared.

While prices for basic supplies skyrocket, I'm laser-focused on lowering costs for West Michiganders so folks don't have to struggle to get by.

But I can’t do it alone. National Republicans are zeroing in on competitive districts in Michigan, and I need your help to fight back.
