According to IDF Lt. Col. Nadav Shoshani, “Prior to the strike, we obtained current intelligence indicating that [Anas] al-Sharif was an active Hamas military wing operative at the time of his elimination. In addition, he received a salary from the Hamas terror group and terrorist supporters, Al-Jazeera, at the same time.”
Unless one finds himself sympathetic to Hamas’s aims and willing to lie about Mr. al-Sharif’s affiliations, the conversation about the terrorist’s demise would end there. But as we know, the international media is all too willing to lap up Hamas’s lies.
Breaking News: Terrorists Lie
Since the beginning of the war, the international community has accepted Hamas’s casualty figures, only to see basic mathematics force everyone to acknowledge that the figures were “inflated” (that’s diplo-speak for “fake”).
And now, a new study has found that Hamas has been claiming children who died of starvation, in fact, tragically died of preexisting conditions. Basically, the terrorists have engaged in an “orchestrated” misinformation campaign, and the fruits of that labor are then reported as news.
The mechanism is not that complicated (see section on reporters and terrorists). Moreover, this is nothing new. One can find hours of video, going back years, of so-called “Palywood,” the nickname given to the decades-long Palestinian practice of staging videos and photos. Terrorists lie. They fake it.
In our office, we were discussing the best of “Palywood” that we’ve seen. The winner was a video of an allegedly dead Palestinian martyr, who, in the middle of his own funeral procession, fell off the stretcher upon which he was being carried, and then promptly dusted himself off and got right back on. The funeral continued (and no, we do not know if they actually buried him).
It’s patently illogical for the international press, Western capitals and the UN to accept that Hamas is willing to rape, torture, kidnap and murder, but won’t fudge a few numbers to impact worldwide news coverage. So, from all of us here at the CUFI Action Fund to all of you who think the “Hamas Run Gaza Health Ministry” is a trustworthy source, here’s a pro-tip: terrorists lie, act accordingly.
The End of the Diplomatic Road
Though no one likes to acknowledge it, and most – save Hamas - desperately sought to avoid it, at this point it’s clear that Jerusalem has reached an impasse with the terrorists who remain in the Gaza Strip. Prime Minister Netanyahu has made clear that there will be no more partial deals. All the hostages for a cessation of hostilities (and that includes Hamas’s hostilities against Israel). Hamas must lay down their arms and release the hostages. Trouble is, they would rather die.
Jerusalem has made it clear that they do not want to be forced into their current position, but that they will – and now plan to – engage in an expanded operation in Gaza City, and elsewhere, to root out the few remaining Hamas strongholds, and, God willing, rescue the hostages.
Israel has no other choice. The Jewish state will not leave her desperate, starving and emaciated hostages behind nor leave a threat on her southern border, waiting, planning, and amassing that which is necessary to repeat the 10/7 Massacre. Hamas will not release the hostages nor lay down their weapons; from their perspective either they maintain and expand their present position, or they will welcome death.
There’s not much negotiating room with a death cult, and though it likely was before, Hamas has certainly become that and nothing more.
Despite their plans being plain as day, it’s not just the international community that cannot/will not see Hamas for what they are. Here as well, in the United States, Hamas has allies and sympathizers – some even in Washington. Moreover, the propaganda campaign is having the desired effect on the ignorant masses. As such, our mission is more vital than ever. We are the ones who know what is taking place in the region. We know the significance of it all. And together we can turn the tide of antisemitism so that it may one day recede well beyond the horizon.
Sincerely,
The CUFI Action Fund Team |
