Dear Friend, 

As the liturgical calendar approaches the August 15 Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, there are more beautiful feast days of Our Lady fast approaching. Our Lady of Knock on August 17, which is the new feast day that was moved by the Vatican several years ago and the traditional feast day on August 21. Our Lady of Czestochowa is celebrated on August 26. Yet very few churches will be saying Holy Masses that honor and seek the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary under those titles. 

Each year, over 1.5 million pilgrims come to pray at the Shrine of Our Lady of Knock in Ireland. Over 4.5 million pilgrims have prayed at the Shrine of Our Lady of Czestochowa in Poland and over 50,000 at the American Czestochowa in Doylestown, Pennsylvania. Why do millions of people, believers and unbelievers alike, flock to these Marian Shrines? The vast majority come to seek an answer to their prayers, mainly for healing – whether it be physical, emotional, spiritual, psychological – healing of a relationship with a loved one, or simply because they are curious unbelievers. 

On August 6, Karol Nowrocki was sworn in as President of Poland. On August 5, the night before, he brought his family to the Shrine of Our Lady of Czestochowa to attend "Apel Jasnogórski” which in English means "the Call of Jasna Gora," held daily at 9:00 PM. It is a time, each day, to declare one's love of the Virgin Mary, specifically under her title of Our Lady, Queen of Poland with singing, a short meditation and prayers. The President-elect not only declared his love to Our Lady, he entrusted his presidency to Our Lady of Czestochowa. After the blessing by Archbishop Depo, a sacred image was presented to him by the Superior General, Rev. Father Arnold Chrapkowski, of the Pauline Fathers, who have been entrusted with the care of the Shrine.

On September 3, President Nowrocki will meet with President Trump at the White House.

The next day, after the swearing-in, the former President of Poland, Andrzej (Andrew in English) Duda attended “Apel Jasnogórski”/ "the Call of Jasna Gora," and thanked Our Lady of Czestochowa for her guidance during this time as president. The Superior General, Rev. Father Arnold Chrapkowski, of the Pauline Fathers, presented him with the sacred image of Our Lady of Czestochowa.

Ten Holy Masses, August 17 – 26

Five days of Holy Masses and Prayers to Our Lady of Knock, Queen of Ireland, beginning August 17, including the new Feast Day on August 17 and the traditional feast day on August 21.

Five days of Holy Masses and Prayers to Our Lady of Czestochowa, Queen of Poland, beginning on August 22, including the Feast Day on August 26.

All you have to do is submit your intentions and you will automatically receive ten days of prayers, beginning on Sunday, August 17th. And please include an intention that Cardinal Burke receive an abundance of grace.

May the powerful intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary be a source of strength for all of us.
