Indivisibles,
This summer, we’ve seen Trump and MAGA Republicans accelerate their authoritarian onslaught. They’re terrorizing immigrant communities with masked secret police, extorting academic institutions, sending the FBI after state legislators, and now attempting to militarize DC.
In the face of these threats, we’re still seeing too many leaders and institutions choosing to capitulate to Trump. CBS and Paramount settled Trump’s bogus lawsuit and dropped Stephen Colbert. Universities like Brown and Columbia have caved to the administration’s demands to adopt discriminatory policies on their campuses, and right now, it appears Harvard might be about to cut a deal.
As Trump continues his attacks on our rights and democracy, we’ve recognized that our organizing strategy needs to evolve to meet this moment. Indivisible has traditionally focused on using our power as constituents to push for change from our elected officials, and while this organizing is still important, it’s not enough to combat the authoritarian breakthrough we’re seeing today. We need to organize through every element of civic society -- businesses, universities, professional associations, faith communities and more -- to resist Trump’s agenda.
That’s why we launched our One Million Rising training series. We’re giving over a million folks the tools and resources they need to become grassroots leaders in their communities. Together, we’ll tap into our power not just as constituents but as consumers, alumni, members of faith communities, and more to build a broad, society-wide resistance from the ground up.
While our strategies are evolving, one thing remains the same: Indivisible is still a grassroots movement that relies on grassroots funding. We can’t do this work without your support, so please click here to chip in if you can.

Tomorrow, we’ll be hosting our final One Million Rising national training. If you haven’t already, you can click here to catch up on the first two sessions, and register for tomorrow’s training.
Autocrats like Trump depend on institutions choosing to comply with the regime rather than fighting back. But it only takes a (relatively) small number of people practicing non-cooperation to make the implementation of their fascist ideals impossible. If we can motivate, train, and equip this movement in the practice of strategic non-cooperation, we can disrupt, delay, and even, at times, make it impossible for this administration to enact corrupt policy.
Heading into this final session, we’ve had nearly 1,400 community gatherings hosted in nearly every state and DC where folks have trained their friends and neighbors in the theory of strategic non-cooperation. In this final session, we’ll teach folks how to design their own local resistance campaigns and introduce new actions to fight back against Trump’s agenda at the national level.
Tomorrow’s training won’t be the end of One Million Rising. We’ll continue to train new grassroots leaders and provide support as folks develop their local resistance campaigns and recruit more of their friends and neighbors. And we’ll provide specific actions you can take to tap into this work, whether or not you’ve attended the series.
But we can’t do this without your support. We’re depending on grassroots donors to help us grow this movement, train more activists, and respond to the onslaught of new threats from this administration. If you’re able to pitch in to support our work, please click here to donate.
