Day 205

It’s Day 205 of President Trump’s second term. No one has lost their Social Security, Medicare, or veterans’ benefits in spite of constant media and leftist lies.

Dems Demand Trump Quit Being Mean To Criminals

There is a complete leftist meltdown today, just as I predicted.  Again. Trump is Hitler! We are one step closer to a dictatorship! He is a racist. Fear and chaos are upon us. Yawn.

All of this high drama because the president announced he would no longer tolerate the continued sinking of Washington, D.C., into lawlessness and decay.  Not on his watch!

Trump cited a provision of the Home Rule Act (a law regulating D.C. governance) that allows the president to take charge of the D.C. police department for 30 days.  In addition, he is deploying D.C. national guard troops on the streets to support local law enforcement.  He is doing this to increase the safety of the law-abiding citizens of D.C., many of whom live in fear.

His initiative was immediately condemned by a “blizzard” of lies spoken by liars. “There is no crime problem in the nation’s capital,” they said from podiums guarded by their personal security guards.

Angry demonstrators immediately marched on the White House. They were not deterred when a gunshot rang out and a man was killed one block away.  Oops!

Here are the inconvenient facts. D.C. has a higher murder rate per 100,000 residents than Bogota, Colombia, Mexico City and many other world cities.  D.C. has the fourth highest rate of murder in the U.S.  The city is NUMBER ONE … in carjackings. By the way, the city doesn’t consider that crime “violent.” No doubt that conclusion was reached by a Washington bureaucrat in the back seat of his limo.  If you have been yanked out of your car at a red light by a couple of young toughs, you know what violence is.

There was one voice of reason that spoke up yesterday. The D.C. police union chairman said: “We stand with the President in recognizing that Washington, DC, cannot continue on this trajectory … Crime is out of control, and our officers are stretched beyond their limits. The federal intervention is a critical stopgap, but the MPD needs proper staffing and support to thrive. This can only happen by repealing the disastrous policies that have driven out our best officers and hindered recruitment.” Amen to that.

Religious Liberty Victories

I don’t need to remind you that the Biden administration waged war against our religious liberty.  Among other outrages, they tried to force employers, including Christian employers, to obey immoral federal mandates issued by the Department of Health and Human Services and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.  These mandates included trans demands on bathroom access, an employer requirement to use false pronouns, providing employee insurance that covers “sex change” operations and surgical and chemical abortions.

The James Dobson Family Institute sued and just won a decisive victory on all counts from a federal district court.  Of course, the Trump administration is also reversing these regulations, but the court victory is important for the future.

There’s more!

  • An LGBTQ advocacy group that tried to force Christian colleges to bow to gay and lesbian demands has been forced to close down after significant financial problems.

  • The iconic painting of Jesus saving sailors lost at sea called Christ on the Water, at the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy has been rescued from the “basement.”  Under Biden, it was removed when a radical atheist group threatened a lawsuit.  It will now be fully restored and put in a place of prominence, fulfilling a promise from the Trump administration.

And Yet Another Win

World Vision, the Christian relief group, has been fighting a discrimination lawsuit for three years.  An applicant accused the organization of rescinding a job offer to her after she disclosed she was married to a woman.  A lower court sided with the plaintiff against World Vision.  But now, a three-judge panel of the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals has upheld World Vision’s right to hire based on their religious core mission.

World Vision was supported in the legal battle by the Southern Baptist Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission, Cedarville University, the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, Samaritan's Purse and Focus on the Family, as well as others, all of whom filed legal briefs with the court.

These court victories once again remind us how important it is for Christians to vote.  Presidents appoint federal court judges.  The Senate votes to confirm or reject them.  Every week the Trump administration is putting more Constitutionalists on the courts who will defend faith, family and freedom.  A President Kamala Harris would have done the exact opposite.
