Friend — Have you heard of PragerU?

If not, it’s quite simple to explain. PragerU is a far-right propaganda machine pretending to be an educational service.

In fact, PragerU’s founder has openly stated that his goal is to “indoctrinate” children with right-wing ideology. They parrot quotes from conservative influencers like Ben Shapiro. They downplay atrocities like slavery in the US and violence against Native Americans.

And what’s worse, they have already entered into partnerships with states like Oklahoma to start using PragerU materials in classrooms. Now, they want to go national.

Friend, it’s bad enough that Trump and Republicans in Congress voted to defund the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, which supports NPR, PBS, and local access TV and radio stations across the country.

Replacing vital, independent news sources with an extreme partisan mouthpiece like PragerU would be a major step toward Trump’s aim to muzzle the truth, bury the facts, and flood the public airways with more lies and misinformation.

Ed Markey has always supported the Corporation for Public Broadcasting because he understands the importance of accessible, free, and educational content being available for working-class American families.

Just because Republicans are rolling back the clock doesn’t mean we shouldn’t keep up the fight. We have an obligation to defeat these extremists and their oligarchs, and take action to restore funding to fair, independent, and educational public broadcasting.
