John, did you see the shocking news? Donald Trump deployed the National Guard to Washington, D.C. and took control of the D.C. police force – and said that other Democratic-led cities and states could be next!
This is only the latest dangerous example of Trump abusing his power by bypassing state and local government: in June, he deployed the California National Guard without Governor Gavin Newsom’s consent – and called for the ARREST of Gov. Newsom!
It’s clear: with the help of his Republican Congress and the conservative-majority Supreme Court, there’s a clear path for Trump’s abuse of executive power.
Luckily, Democratic governors like JB Pritzker and Gavin Newsom aren’t backing down in the face of Trump’s abuses of power, John – but they can’t do it alone.
